"You're a squid now, you're a kid now!"

Welcome to my Splatoon shrine, a dedicated area for one of my introduction to the world of gaming! Splatoon is a 3rd person shooter created by Nintendo, originally released for the Wii U (which I admitedly did not play). It's honestly so much fun (yes I'm biased), and I've been playing since 2017.

"So what is Splatoon?"

you, the strawman I'm using as an excuse to explain the game, might be asking. Splatoon, as I said before, is a 3rd person shooter game where you play as an inkling (or Octoling in the latter 2 releases). The main mode is called Turf War, where you have to ink the most turf in 3 minutes to win. Ranked mode is a bunch of different game modes, but honestly, I haven't played any of those modes a ton, so I wont be going over them here. There is also story mode, which is similar in the first 2 games (save the great zapfish and by proxy, save Inkopolis), with the 3rd game putting a twist on that, having you save the world from getting turned into a giant fuzzball.

Honestly, to yap further, I wanna talk about how Splatoon got me into gaming. Splatoon 2 was one of the first games I got for the Switch, and I played the hell out of it. I probably had like, 100 hours, on the game (at least). It's honestly such a nostalgic game for me, and I still play 2 on occasion, even if it's just story mode or octo expansion.

I remember my first match (kinda). It was on Moray Towers, and I tried my hardest. We lost, which is to be expected, but it was still genuinely fun. Just that sense of newness, as I had never played before. I honestly think both Splatoon and Pokemon Sun got me here today, those games genuinely changed my life.
